Charles M. Williams

U.S. Veteran

Charles M. Williams, age 100, formerly of Tipton, passed away on Monday August 20, 2012 at Golden Living Healthcare in Kokomo. He was born in Tipton County on March 29, 1912 to Melvin and Ida Mae (Prebble) Williams. On July 9, 1938 Charles married Pauline Straley and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2006. Charles was a member of the Indiana National Guard’s 125th Infantry Division serving from 1921 to 1926. He was employed at Oakes Manufacturing and retired from FMC Corporation in 1972 after 25 plus years. In his spare time Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as taking trips with Pauline and traveling with other family members. Survivors include his two sons; Charles E. Williams of Tipton and Richard Williams of Kokomo along with nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four sisters and three brothers Funeral services will take place at 12 PM on Saturday August 25, 2012 at the Porter Funeral Home located at 726 East North Street in Tipton with visitation two hours prior to the service. Pastor Evan Strong will be officiating with interment taking place in Tipton‘s Fairview Cemetery.
